We offer externships to veterinary students from around the world! We have had many people from Europe, South America, Mexico, USA and of course Canada. Please apply early if you have specific dates in mind as applications are considered on a first come, first serve basis and the summer months do tend to fill up quickly Externs will get to spend time both in the hospital and on the road during their stay. They will work closely with our interns to learn the ropes and will get to help out doing treatments, evaluations and procedures as permitted. Externs are involved during their entire stay and can help admit emergencies and participate in surgery in the evenings and on weekends. We believe our externs learn a lot during their visit and experience a wide variety of cases with different veterinarians. It is not mandatory to do an externship in order to apply for the internship, however priority is often given to students who have visited.

The closest international airport is Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) 15 minutes away, the next one is Vancouver International Airport (YVR) which is 1 hr away. Public transit is quite sporadic and far from the clinic therefore Uber/taxi or other means to get to our facility are recommended. There are several grocery stores nearby. We have a separate apartment available for you to stay at the facility while you are here. It includes a full kitchen and laundry. We expect you to leave the apartment clean for the next person as a courtesy.
