Pre-Purchase Exams

These exams are utilized to determine the current medical condition of a horse and as a predictor of the horse’s future performance. This is accomplished through a thorough physical exam as well as an extensive gait evaluation involving limb palpation, flexion tests and hoof testers. The horse is also assessed for lameness or asymmetry on hard and soft ground.

This exam may include other ancillary tests, e.g. Radiographs, Blood Work, Drug Screens, Endoscopy, and/or Ultrasound.
